'I Can't Forgive Buhari For The Hardship He Brought' – Nigerian Woman Recalls Struggles Under Ex-President

In a video, the woman said she felt nothing upon hearing about Buhari’s reported death and insisted that she could not find it in her heart to forgive him.

A Nigerian woman, believed to be from the Northern region, has said she will never forgive the late former President Muhammadu Buhari for the hardship she endured during his administration.

In a video, the woman said she felt nothing upon hearing about Buhari’s reported death and insisted that she could not find it in her heart to forgive him.

“I heard Buhari is dead… I swear to Almighty Allah, for me, I didn't feel any thing about his demise, be it sympathy or grief, I swear I didn't feel anything.

“And again, during his time as president of Nigeria there is no kind of hardship that I didn't see/pass through. My entire life since the beginning of his administration till date has not returned to normal.

“When he became president his children became successful and he gave his daughter's hand in marriage. His children become rich and successful.
“And we the children of nobody who are posting videos mourning and praying for his soul to rest in peace were the most affected ones.

“Some are saying he is a Muslim and so on. God says forgive if you can and if you cannot leave it for God to judge in here after. For me, I cannot and will not forgive Buhari.”

SaharaReporters reported on Sunday that Tinubu had also summoned an emergency session of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) following Buhari's death.

In a statement released from the State House on Sunday, Tinubu confirmed the passing of the former leader.

Describing the late president as “a patriot, a soldier, a statesman,” Tinubu praised Buhari’s dedication to the country, highlighting his leadership both as a military ruler and as a democratically elected president from 2015 to 2023.

President Tinubu offered condolences to Buhari’s widow, Aisha, and his family, revealing that he had been in contact with them.

In honour of Buhari, Tinubu directed all national flags to fly at half-staff for seven days beginning Sunday.

He also announced that the emergency FEC meeting, scheduled for Tuesday, would be held in Buhari’s honour.
He further disclosed that the Nigerian government would accord the former president full state honours.
