Ogun State Residents Petition IGP, Accuse Police Officers Of Extortion Of N5million, Abduction, Brutality

 February 7, 2025 News The victims narrated how the police officers in the Sango Area Command allegedly detained, tortured, and extorted them under the guise of an official operation. Ikechukwu Joseph, Solomon Adeniyi, and Alhaja Asisat, three Ogun State residents, have written to the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun, through their lawyer, the Initiative for the Downtrodden, accusing some police officers of brruality and extortion.  The officers; SP Rotimi Ogunmuyiwa, ASP Paul Ataga, IPO Jude Ikhe (Chinedu), and others in Ogun State were alleged to be involved in brutality, extortion, and criminal abduction.  The victims narrated how the police officers in the Sango Area Command allegedly detained, tortured, and extorted them under the guise of an official operation.  A man has cried out to the public that he is a victim of domestic violence. The man, his wife, and their children were at Ebuka Obi’s Zion Prayer Movement when he revealed his plight. He explained that whenever he beats any of his children to correct them, his wife beats him back in the presence of the children. He said he has asked his wife to wait until they are alone before correcting him but his wife has refused to heed his suggestion, instead, she chooses to hit him while the children are there. He added that his children have now learnt from their mother and whenever he beats them, they beat him back or throw things at him. Church members are seen laughing as the man narrates his family issues. The wife also got defensive and verbally attacked her husband before her children calmed her down. UK-based Nigerian Woman Arrested For Saying ‘Drugs’ Instead of ‘Medications’

 A Nigerian lady living in the United Kingdom (UK), identified as @shakels95, has shared her shocking experience of being arrested due to a simple misunderstanding of Nigerian jargon. According to her, she had gone to a pharmacy to purchase medications for her husband when an innocent remark during a phone conversation led to her unexpected arrest. While speaking to her husband on the phone, she casually used the word “drugs” instead of “medications,” unaware that people around her at the pharmacy misinterpreted it. Moments later, the police arrived and took her into custody. Recalling the incident in a TikTok video, she said, “I got arrested yesterday, last night, and got detained. Now, I am going home. I Got N200,000 Out of N13m Ransom After Setting Up My Nephew, Family Members For Abduction – Bandits Informant

 An informant to bandits, Ado Haruna, who set up his nephew, Alhaji Bashiru Anas and his family members for abduction, has revealed that he was given N200,000 out of the N13 million collected as ransom. The suspect arrested by the operatives of the Intelligence Response Team (IRT), was among criminals recently paraded by the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, in Abuja. Haruna, of Angwa Kanawa Dutse Abba, Zaria, Kaduna State, was reported to have taken Shago Yaro, Tanimu Ayuba and Lamido Dantajiri, close to the house of his nephew, Alhaji Anas, and suggested him and his family members as a good catch for kidnapping that would yield a lot of money. On the day they struck, the bandits invaded Alhaji Anas’s residence at about 1 a.m., met his absence and went away with his two wives and three children, as well as his younger brother and his wife.
