 Security agents arrest suspected vote-buyer with 25.9 million naira in cash in Kaduna. Security agents in Kaduna arrested a suspected vote-buyer in possession of 25,963,000 naira. This arrest occurred just hours before Saturday's by-elections in some parts of the state. The suspect, identified as Shehu Aliyu Patangi, was arrested at around 3:30 a.m. by operatives of the Nigerian Police Force, in collaboration with the Department of State Services, at a popular hotel on Turunku Street in Kaduna. According to the Kaduna State Police Command, preliminary investigations revealed that the large sum of money was intended to induce voters and compromise the integrity of the electoral process. Police spokesman DSP Mansir Hassan confirmed the arrest, noting that the suspect had already confessed to the crime and pleaded for mercy.
